Be Awesome!

Courage is one of those big words we tend to throw around lightly.

In truth, it is one of the most complex words in the English language.

Courage has so many meanings but virtually all people see courage as the ability ACT in spite of FEAR.

Courage is looking through our fears to see the possibilities and potentialities.

Courage is stopping long enough to look through danger to see opportunity.

So, why do so many people not see the ever-present opportunities around us?

The simple answer is that our fears outweigh the perceived value of taking action.

All fear is rooted in what we stand to lose if we act…

We could lose our money…

We could lose our life…

We could lose respect…

Down deep in our DNA is hidden code that causes us to pause to think instinctively about these things.

This code has been refined over the millennia to keep us from harm… to see the snakes in the grass or the tigers in the woods.

It is designed to stop us from taking action… not stepping out to pursue our dreams.

Silently, deep from within we give way to the loss, not the value we will receive.

If I act now, I may not see another day…

If I act now, I will be worse off than before…

If I act now, people will not respect me, love me, or want to be around me…

So we sit and wait for further instructions that never come.

Wishing and waiting is the hallmark of the fearful.

Learning and doing is the hallmark of the fearless.

So, what does it really take to be totally AWESOME?

Being yourself unconditionally…

Stepping out of your comfort zone…

Leading not just following.

Each day we are given a second chance to be our best-selves possible.

Each day we struggle in the balance between the fearful and the fearless.

Take all those beautiful second chances you are given and build your foundation on courage…
