The Opportunity to Believe

| October 1, 2018

“Authenticity is everything! You have to wake up every day and look in the mirror, and you want to be proud of the person who’s looking back at you. And you can only do that if you’re being honest with yourself and being a person of high character. You have an opportunity every single day to write that story of your life.” ~ Aaron Rodgers

The Opportunity to Believe…

Opportunity is such a wonderful word.

It conjures up all sorts of thoughts and emotions.

The opportunity to travel…

The opportunity to learn a new language…

The opportunity to become a concert pianist…

The opportunity to live a deep and richly rewarding life.

Opportunity always starts with the invisible.

You might catch a glimpse out of your eye of something that is just a bit off.

Out of the ordinary.

Maybe even out of your comfort zone.

It might make you feel nervous… anxious… even angry.

You see it once, no big deal.

But there it is, over and over in front of you.

Maybe it looks the same each time, maybe it presents itself totally different every time you get that feeling that something’s going on here.

When you look up the definition of the word Opportunity, you see it has a starkly simple meaning…

“A set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something.”

Maybe the circumstances are dire and life-threatening. You see it. You are now presented with the possibility of doing something about it. Big problems with lots of trauma equal huge opportunities for personal growth, advancement, or just improving the life of a single person.

Maybe the circumstances are light, fun, and enjoyable. You see it. You take it. You have fun… the reward from seizing the opportunity.

If it is not possible for you to do something, it’s NOT an opportunity… at least, not for you.

But…

Just because you don’t immediately see the opportunity to act, doesn’t mean it is not there.

We believe that the problem is not only SEEING… it is more about BELIEVING.

When you actually believe what you see — truly believe that what you are seeing is the handwriting on the wall put there for you — a whole series of happenstances, circumstances, possibilities, and potentialities suddenly open before you.

Opportunity is always preceded by belief.

A friend of mine calls it Belief Intelligence — being smart enough to see through the fog of fear, doubt, and hopelessness to intuitively or instinctively do something.

The courage to do something is already within you.

Do something small to get started.

Take the next step.

Fail forward.

Fail and fail again until you start winning.

That is turning the courage to believe into the opportunity to make your life stand for something truly great.

I am 65 yrs young – in a month, I’ll be 65. The timing of this vid – amazing! I don’t have a career job nor my own business–yet! I have two janitorial jobs and a dishwasher job that I just really enjoy–my take from this video–loving what you are doing and make it count and upon truly learning everything I can, especially the janitor job; all the nuts and bolts of having a janitorial business. So I am at an infant stage with eyes wide open, full of WOW and wonder about starting my own janitorial business.
