The Shadow of Fear

“I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear. ~ Rosa Parks

Face the Fear and Do It Anyway!

The vast majority of us are driven by, and give in to fears of all kind:  Fear of failure… fear of success… fear of the future… fear of losing control… fear of having too much power… fear that they are not good enough, smart enough, etc.

Fear silently drives your choices and actions.

Living in the shadow of your fears robs you of your future… reduces your true potential… and causes you to live in the shadow of regrets and recrimination.

The good news is, fear is both natural and controllable.

The bottom line is that until you learn to control your fears, they WILL control you.

TQ Factor 10D: “I use fear as a call to action, and act without delay to reduce the threat.”

When we were creating The Time Prism, we noticed that virtually every author discussing success observed that they had to overcome FEAR before achieving their most important goals.

You see, all forms of fear come down to the simple fear of LOSS.

  • Loss of life…
  • Loss of money…
  • Loss of opportunity…
  • Loss of your health…
  • Loss of respect, status and reputation…
  • The list, of course, is endless.

Sometimes this fear of loss shadows every decision you make and every action you take.

It is an insidious cancer that destroys your future by limiting your potential.

Reduced potential ultimately translates into reduced success.

Yes, you CAN go from failure to fearless.

Yes, you CAN eliminate fear-driven negatives from your performance and transform them into powerful positives.

Which would you rather be? Which set of words do you believe drives you UP towards success… or takes you DOWN towards failure?

Committed
Undaunted
Proactive

Think about your life right now and decide if you are more on the Positive side of this “thin line between success and failure” or you spend more of your precious time on the Negative side.

If this is resonating with you, dial up the Act Now tracks from your Learn and Burn: Success Essentials and burn these ideas into your brain… into your heart… and into your hands.

Ideas For Improving TQ Factor 10D…

The Shadow of FearThe following Ideas for Action represent the best thinking on the planet to improve this area of your performance.

Each idea is designed to motivate you to do this Factor more frequently.

The Shadow of Fear

Don’t Be Afraid. Do Something. Anything. Now!

Afraid? Just do something. Doing nothing lets your fear grow. Let your fear serve as a call to action. The minute you feel it, jump up to make some improvement.

The more you wait, the more you worry. Taking action cures worry and dissolves fear.

Is Your Fear Dark And Fuzzy?

When you feel fear, identify it precisely. That’s half the battle. When you bring fear into the light of day, you move it from some vague dark force to something specific and concrete which can be acted on.

You often fear that which is undefined. First name it, then confront it.

Are You Ready To Wrestle Your Demons?

Confront your fear head on. Take the sting out of it, then start acting to eliminate it. Nothing robs your energy as fast as fear.

Whenever fear rears its ugly head, ask yourself, “What’s the worst that can happen here?” FDR was right, you know. “We have nothing to fear . . . .”

What, Me Worry?

Don’t just sit there and worry. Be proactive. Do something — anything — about what’s worrying you so you can gain information, focus and control over the situation.

“I’ve suffered a great many catastrophes in my life. Most of them never happened.” – Mark Twain

You have the power — right here, right now — to change the state you’re in, to change whatever you’re feeling. Remember this: Thought directs action. Consciously choose more productive thoughts.

Be the master of your thoughts every moment today, and there will be nothing you can’t act on.

Can You Rechannel The Dark Side?

Fear, guilt, insecurity, anger, frustration and worry. They all have their own energy. Put this “negative energy” to good use by taking every possible action to guarantee that you can’t fail.

Negative emotions can provide a powerful impetus to succeed. Let them motivate you to take every action possible so that you don’t fail.

Now, Incorporate these ideas into your actions.

The Shadow of FearSometimes a small shift in perspective gives you a huge shift in personal power.

Each question is designed to shift your perspective, change your point of view, and to invite specific action.
